Victoria Falls is the largest waterfall in the world.

It has an astounding width of 1708 meters and an impressive height of 108 meters and is a fantastic year-round destination.

Clocking in at twice the height of Niagara Falls, Victoria Falls is one of Africa’s most-visited attractions.

They are traditionally known as Mosi-oa-Tunya or “the smoke that thunders”, Victoria Falls Lodges are often included in most Southern Africa safari itineraries.

The area is also known as Africa’s Adventure Capital.

Victoria Falls is situated on the Zambezi River, at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The Victoria Falls Lodges has great links to the rest of Africa, with direct flights into the parks of Zambia, a road or air transfer to the parks of Botswana and Zimbabwe, plus a direct flight to the Kruger National Park in South Africa, to Windhoek in Namibia, to both Cape Town and Johannesburg in South Africa, and Nairobi in Kenya.

The main access is via Johannesburg, with daily flights into either Livingstone Airport on the Zambia side or Victoria Falls Airport on the Zimbabwean side.

The Best Time of the Year to Visit Victoria Falls:

Victoria Falls is a year-round safari destination.

The best time to visit Victoria Falls Lodges depends on the activities you want to participate in, so deciding when to go usually comes down to the rest of the holiday you are planning.

If you want to go during the best time to see the Falls itself, high water is between February and July (peak in March and April) of each year.

This is also the best time to see the falls from the air, as the spray is thick with amazing rainbows.

How do I Choose between Zambia and Zimbabwe:

Victoria Falls is part of the mighty Zambezi River which forms the natural border between the two countries.

The waterfall straddles Zimbabwe to the west and Zambia to the east and is easily accessed from either country via Victoria Falls Town in Zimbabwe and Livingstone in Zambia.

The good news is, no matter which side you stay on, you can easily cross the border to explore the other or to undertake activities.

Both sides offer magnificent views of the waterfall but it’s your Victoria Falls Lodges accommodation preferences and choice of activities that might influence your decision.

If you want the best of both worlds, you can easily get across the border via Victoria Falls Bridge.

All you’ll need is your passport and a double/multiple entry visa, which you can purchase at the border control.

This means that if you’re staying on the Zambian side and want to view the falls from the Zimbabwean side, you can do so comfortably on a day trip – and vice versa.

As about three-quarters of Victoria Falls lies in Zimbabwe, the country has the better vantage points.

Things to do at Victoria Falls:

If you are after a massive rush of adrenaline, Victoria Falls is the place to get it.

White water rafting here is the wildest in the world.

Bungee jumping, canoeing, ziplining, and gorge swinging can also be enjoyed if you are brave enough.

Seasoned daredevils will relish a swim in the aptly named Devil’s Pool, the pool right at the top of the falls.

Guests to Victoria Falls Lodges can enjoy river cruises, shopping in Victoria Falls Town, and excursions to the local villages to get to know the people of the area.

And no visit to Victoria Falls is complete without a trip to The Boma for authentic Zimbabwean cuisine and an afternoon spent sampling the famous High Tea.

Scenic helicopter flips and microlight flights are also on offer.

Then there are the luxury safari lodges on both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides and further upstream.

With Victoria Falls Lodges we will take you on an epic journey of discovery.

We look forward to helping you make your holiday dreams come true.
